Resiliency Trainings

Outline of Available Resiliency Trainings

Support Circles

  • 4 trainings per year
  • 2 hours per week for 10 weeks
  • 1–2 facilitators
  • 6-18 attendees

The Support Circles Training is a psychoeducational support group intervention designed for individuals who are working in high-stress professions and who are searching for ways to remain resilient or to rekindle their flame. The interventional approaches delivered by mental health professionals will explore the stressors at the source, discuss the important balance between personal needs and career commitments, and review strategies to bolster self-efficacy both in their professional role and interactions in the social context.

Philosophical Overview:

The Support Circles program is based on the following:

  • Covid 19, personal responsibilities and occupational stressors can have negative consequences on our overall wellbeing. Physical, emotional, and spiritual self-care can help build resilience and reduce these stressors.
  • These low-intensity intervention efforts will increase knowledge, address values and beliefs, and motivate changes in attitude and behaviors.
  • At the core of the support circle are mutual respect, appreciation, and curiosity for increased learning.

The Support Circles group intervention is designed for various professions who are experiencing an increased level of stress and negative health outcomes as a result.   The ten-week program is to educate, explore, and adapt to the current stressors of life and the ill effects of the Covid 19 pandemic.

Individual Psychoeducation Trainings

These trainings are educational/instructional in nature. Depending on the complexity of the topic, these trainings are delivered using lecture-style teaching for 50% of the allotted time allowing for 25% of the training for curiosity and discovery through interactive activities and 25% of the time allotted to questions and answers. These trainings deliver to the participants the needed information and skills building to promote self-efficacy and increase resiliency.
